We are Jared and Illy (pronounced as e-lee :) ), and we serve as missionaries with Cru, currently stationed in Taipei, Taiwan. Our journey together began in 2021 when we met at the Cru headquarters in Orlando, Florida, and we were later married in April 2023. Jared is originally from Mexico, Missouri, and Illy is from Taiwan. Before we moved overseas, Jared used his computer science background serving as the Team Leader for Missions Insights and Analytics with the US campus ministry, while Illy served as a professional audio engineer with the FamilyLife Audio Group.

We were honestly surprised by how God led us to this new chapter; He ironically used a green card meeting to challenge our hearts to move to Taiwan for missions! After praying through it together, we both found so much joy in pursuing this opportunity that in August 2025, we officially moved to Taiwan to begin our ministry. We are so excited to be on the ground at Illy’s alma mater, National Taiwan Normal University (NTNU), where we are helping the students to know, see, and follow Jesus. :)
