The vision for Gather Groups is that in the years ahead, Arcadians will both be and make disciples of Jesus together in Gather Groups.

This relationship with Christ, each other, and the world, has been expressed in three movements Christians have embraced for centuries — movements that Arcade’s Gather Groups can embrace as well.

Gather Groups move UP.

In Gather Groups, we want Arcadians to gather around the Word like believers did in the first days of the church in Acts 2: to see and be transformed by Jesus, together. They might do this thru bible-study, tackling hard spiritual questions, or praying together as a family. Either way they move UP, looking to the Author and Finisher of their faith.

Gather Groups move IN.

Specifically, IN towards one another; loving each other in ways that confound the world. In Gather Groups, we’ll invite one another to know who we are right now — not the polished Christians we wish we were. They’ll seek to know one another’s faith journey in a way that makes Jesus the main character; helping each other see the silhouette of Christ’s love in the highs and lows, ups and downs, of their everyday lives.

Gather Groups move OUT.

Gather Groups make disciples of Jesus by speaking and showing the Kingdom to lost people, in the ordinary stuff of life. But they do it together. Sharing Jesus was never meant to be a solo operation. So Gather Groups go OUT by loving their respective coworkers and neighbors in ways that engage not-yet believers regularly; to explore the life of their group — and the Spirit who indwells that group...Ways that allow not-yet believers to become participants, and eventually members of God’s spiritual family.
